Féile and other local traditional music sessions

Déardaoin – 30th March

Seisiún amhránaíochta – Irish traditional singing session 

9pm – Deery’s lounge, Carrickmacross – adm. free and all welcome.

 

A dedicated singing session with specially invited guest singers from Counties Monaghan and Armagh to lead.  All singers are welcome with the rule being that while no standard is set for the singing, a very high standard is set for the listening!

  

Dé hAoine – 31st March

Seisiún ceoil – 10pm ‘till late – Markey’s, Carrickmacross.

 

 

Dé Sathairn – 1st April

Youth session – Afterburners – 5.30pm to 7.30pm – Deery’s lounge – adm. free.

Open youth session organised by the Carrickmacross CCÉ Youth Officers with all teen musicians welcome.  No speed limits!

 

 

Seisiún ceoil – 10:30pm ‘till late – Markey’s, Carrickmacross.

 

 

Dé Domhnaigh – 2nd April

Slow session – Reel Slow – 6pm to 8pm – Deery’s lounge, Carrickmacross – adm. free and all welcome.

A dedicated slow session suitable for novice and improver musicians hosted by the local adult slow session group and led by the local Reel Slow session group.  Speed limits apply but all are welcome.

 

 

Seisiún ceoil – Survivors – 8pm ‘till late – Deery’s lounge – adm. free.

Final open music session of the féile with all musicians, singers and dancers welcome. Hup!

 

The Mountain Dew

Venue the Community Centre, Corduff.
Session is held on the third Friday of every month. Family friendly atmosphere suitable for all ages (from 8 to 80) and abilities (suit beginners). Organised by Corduff and Raferagh Community Centre and supported by Carrickmacross Comhaltas, the session usually starts at 9:30pm.

Markeys

Main Street, Carrickmacross
Held on the fourth Friday of the month. This is an open session with all musicians welcome. Session starts at 10pm.

Reel Slow

Markeys, Main Street, Carrickmacross
A slow session run by and for the adult students of the branch music classes. Held on Sunday evenings on a fortnightly basis. Currently on hold due to the pandemic.

Clarkes

Main Street, Kingscourt
One of the longest running and best sessions in the country, held once a month on the first Friday in Clarke’s pub. This is an open session and usually starts after 10pm.
